God’s promise to those who live lives sold out to Him, is a harvest of peace and assurance of His love and goodness forever. This does not mean that we will never encounter storms though, for we live in a fallen world. It does mean that the seeds we sow will bring peace that is noticeable, long lasting and eternal. These seeds become like the gift that keeps on giving. Have you ever noticed that there are some people who seem to bring order and peace to situations and others who bring dischord and mayhem? While 1 John 4:1 tells us not to believe every spirit but to test them to truly see if they are of God, one of the hall marks of a believer in Christ, is the peace that they sow into lives and situations. Can we get off kilter? We certainly can, because we live in earthen vessels that are flawed. However, the essence of who we are in Christ far outshines any of our human failings. As we spend more time mediatating on God’s Word, we become more like Him and one of His characteristics is peace. It follows us in our homes, on our jobs, in the supermarket as God cloaks our lives in who He is when we are serious about our walk with Him.
